Our guide will take you on an adventurous tour to follow the footsteps of the great Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. You will see the places where he used to live when, at the age of 14, he moved to Copenhagen from Odense. We will take you back in time and help you visualize H. C. Andersen´s life from his childhood in deep poverty to his adolescence and adulthood as an acknowledged writer.

You will learn the history behind the fairy tale of the Little Mermaid and Ugly Duckling. Accompanied by our guide you will visit the attic room on top of the former Hotel Du Nord, where the poor writer created his fairy tales in the shallow light of a single candle. Furthermore, we will tell you about two families who played important role in H. C Andersen´s life and had the influence on his creative spirit. You will hear why he was always in love but could never get married.
