During the tour we'll tell you the story of king Christian the IV who was called “the King Larger than life”. His majesty was passionate, intelligent and lived his life to the full. He was an energetic king, burning with the desire to reform his country and make it better, richer and larger at any costs, even if this meant losing most of the wars! King Christian the IV is mainly remembered for his empowerment with knowledge and will to enlighten his people in the time of Renaissance. He started the movement of Renaissance in Denmark and introduced his people to the modern times. His court was full of joy and music and the king was keen on dancing and knew all the steps. Christian the IV was fashionable: knew how to wear ear-rings, hair-braids and bucket top boots. Knowing how to melt the women’s harts, he fathered an impressive number of children! How many? You will find it out during our tour. He was also obsessed with witch hunting. Many of the city´s buildings are built during the reign of king Christian the IV. During this tour our guides will show you all the buildings left behind by this passionate, creative and determined king.
